From April 2017:
I have a big book about UNESCO World Heritage Sites and it’s filled with a lot of lovely, colourful pictures of places I would someday like to visit. Every now and then, I pick a photo from the book and I draw it. Sometimes it’s a simple copy of the picture, other times I add in my own elements to make it something different.
In this case, I decided not to draw a landscape but an animal instead! I know, this blog series is called ‘Scape Sketches’ and this tortoise very clearly isn’t a landscape but the book has a lot of nice pictures of animals and I just wanted to do something different…although I really did not do justice to the photo! I was so tired when I was drawing this that it just went badly. I ended up giving up and not finishing it.
